Dear Fellow Italians, I always admired your tight-knit community, your feasts and festivals, every year attendance is more numerous. Here in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we have something similar with the Buenos Aires Celebra Italia Festival. Each ethnic group has a date, some on saturdays some other on Sundays(ours), and we also see a success, as more and more attendants come . A big hug to all my fellow italians there in Brooklyn.I follow you through Facebook and Internet. Mario González

So happy it's Mt. Carmel Feast time again. My son has been lifting for the Children's Giglio but this year he became taller so he skips a year waiting to take on the adult version. But we will be there to cheer everyone on & have a great time guys.

I grew up in the area. My Aunt ran a stand(which is where the nevada stand is & owned a lunchenette opposite the church. My family were lifters, my son's a lifter, my sister is the water girl for the past 50 years at ths awesome feast. I come home every July from AZ to be a part of this family tradition & catch up with family & friends. See you soon. Buona Festa!

Sorry for the sad news from Williamsburg. On July 2003, visiting the Giglio Feast I met a so kind person: Mister P. Manna. I live in Brusciano by Naples and just last days I knew the passing of this Great Giglio Number 1 Capo. Remembering Phillie Manna, I want to send my heartfelt condolences to his family, and express the closeness to all the organizers and lifters of Giglio E Paravise.

i was born on July 16th but was dying from blood disorder. Mother prayed to OLMC and held me at foot pf statue. I recovered through Our Ladys intercession. Now live in Delaware but two daughters still live in Brooklyn. My wife and i come back every year to celebrate my birthday at festa. Love the musica, the lifts, the Giglio Mass, and the procession on the 16th. Each passing year i love it more. Thank you OLMC, clergy, parish, band , lifters, ladies aux, capos and liutenants! Viva Giglio.
